The David Downie Foundation was created in memory of David Downie, a beloved telecommunications leader who lost his battle with glioblastoma in 2019. Known as the "Mayor of Wireless" for his gift of bringing people together, David's legacy lives on through our mission: providing direct financial assistance to cancer patients and their families. We believe no family should face cancer alone—and we're here to prove it, one family at a time.
Where Your Money Goes
We raise funds and donate monthly to hospitals and cancer treatment centers across the Southeast. Medical professionals—the doctors and nurses who see patients every day—select families who need help most. Recipients receive financial assistance to cover real-world costs insurance doesn't: gas for appointments, meals, housekeeping, home modifications, and other essentials that pile up during treatment.
